Cathie Wood: Bitcoin Could Hit $1.5M by 2030

The Most Important Points at a Glance

According to Cathie Wood, CEO of Ark Invest, Bitcoin remains in a bull market. She maintains her forecast that the Bitcoin price could rise to $1.5 million USD by 2030. Despite short-term losses and skeptical voices, there are still positive signals, including increasing inflows into Bitcoin ETFs. However, other experts have differing opinions on Bitcoin’s short-term development.

Bitcoin in a Bull Market? Cathie Wood’s Optimistic Forecast

In an interview with Bloomberg, Cathie Wood emphasized that Bitcoin is still in a bull market. She referred to Bitcoin’s four-year cycle and highlighted the importance of deregulation in the U.S. for institutional investors. Her long-term forecast remains unchanged: a Bitcoin price of $1.5 million USD by 2030.

Different Assessments of Bitcoin’s Development

Matt Hougan, CIO of Bitwise, shares Wood’s optimistic outlook. He sees the possibility that Bitcoin could rise to $200,000 USD by the end of 2025 if the macroeconomic environment improves. These predictions are based, among other things, on the MVRV Z-Score, an indicator for evaluating market cycles. The current value of 1.5 is close to previous local lows, which could allow for further growth.

However, there are also skeptical voices. Ki Young Ju, CEO of CryptoQuant, sees the bull market ending within the next six to twelve months. He points to weak trading volumes and ETF inflows that may not be sufficient to push Bitcoin above the $100,000 USD mark.

Rising ETF Inflows – A Positive Signal?

In the past three days, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have seen inflows again after three weeks of outflows. On March 17, $274.5 million USD flowed into these products, followed by another $209 million USD on March 18. Whether this trend continues and supports the Bitcoin price in the short term remains to be seen.

Our Assessment

Opinions on Bitcoin’s short-term development are divided. While Cathie Wood and Matt Hougan continue to believe in rising prices, other experts like Ki Young Ju expect sideways movement or even a correction. The recent ETF inflows could be a positive signal, but the decisive factors remain the macroeconomic environment and market sentiment in the coming months.
