NAAiG Opposes Online Gambling Legalization in U.S.

The NAAiG emphasizes that the tax revenues generated by iGaming cannot compensate for these economic losses. Additionally, the group warns of rising social costs due to problem gambling and underage gambling.

Industry Representatives Express Concerns
Mark Stewart, board member of the NAAiG and Executive Vice President of the Cordish Companies, sees the increasing spread of online gambling as a threat to the industry. In his opinion, the ability to play at any time via mobile devices leads to negative economic and social consequences.
Although Cordish Companies operates physical casinos, the company has not yet ventured into the online gambling market. Stewart stated that Cordish would apply for a license in Maryland if legalization occurs but remains opposed to the general expansion of iGaming.
Other members of the NAAiG include Churchill Downs Incorporated and Monarch Casino, both with significant investments in land-based gambling operations.
